The RORC Rating Office is pleased to announce that MUSTO will be supporting the IRC Rule from 2003. Musto’s sponsorship of IRC will help ensure that the Rating Office can continue to manage and develop the Rule into the future at an economical cost to the sailors that use it.

Nigel Musto (Managing Director of Musto Ltd) comments: "When the prospect of sponsoring the IRC Rule arose, we quickly concluded that it represented the perfect opportunity to repay the loyalty of the many IRC competitors, who have been devotees of MUSTO offshore performance gear, since it first entered the market some 25 years ago."

Musto’s test team for their Offshore and Ocean garments encompasses stars like Ellen MacArthur and Iain Percy as well as the GBR Challenge America’s Cup team and numerous other world class sailors. In recent years, the development team has also included almost 1000 competitors who have taken part in Sir Chay Blyth’s BT Challenges.

The IRC Rule, as successor to the Channel Handicap System (CHS), has been in existence since 1999 and is now the basis for yacht rating certificates to over 5000 yachts every year, in over 30 countries worldwide.
