PLEASE DELETE ANY PREVIOUS VERSIONS OF THE EXCEL IRC APPLICATION FORM THAT YOU MAY HAVE BEEN USING. Only the new version of the application form must be used from now on. Note: although the spreadsheet consists of 4 worksheets, the only one you need to complete is the first one (Application):

Explanatory Notes Some of these notes may be repeated on the application form. Correct completion helps avoid errors, or unnecessary delays in processing.

1. If you have not already done so, please read the general application notes

2. Please enter dates as year only YYYY (ie. 2006)

3. The Yes and No boxes do not automatically switch - please make sure that you have not ticked both boxes !

4. Please do not put N/A in any of the boxes which require a measurement, as this is not understood by the import program. (Relevant cells contain validation requirements which should not allow this anyway).

5. Please choose the most suitable descriptions from the various drop-down boxes. If there is not a suitable choice, choose "other" and give details in the Comments box at the end of the form, or in the cover message of your e-mail if necessary.

6. Please complete the form and either attach it when applying online through MyIRC, or return it to us by e-mail to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

7. If you apply online, payment is through Barclays secure server.

If you prefer to apply by e-mail rather than online, there is a risk, if small, of putting your credit card details on the form; so if you would prefer not to include your card details on the application form, please note this in your cover message and telephone us with the details (+44 1590 677030), or fax them to +44 1590 679478 stating your name and contact number, and the yacht name & sail number to which they refer.

The Application Form

The Application sheet is essentially the same as previous versions. With the obvious exception of any cells into which data must be entered, this sheet is locked. It is a read-only file so you will need to save it under the boat name/sail number as described at the top of the form.

The Validations sheet is new and is very relevant. It is for your use in checking the data. It is completely locked and may not be edited. It works as follows:

Column A: Lists all the variables to be validated.

Column B: Shows any variables or other data that is required and is MISSING.

Column C: Shows any data that has been entered which is PROBABLY ERRONEOUS.

Column D: Shows any data which is at variance from the norms to be expected. It is therefore WARNINGS

Please DO review the Validations sheet for your application. If data is missing or probably erroneous, we will simply come back to you before running the application.

The Standard Hulls sheet shows those designs for which we should be able to use standard hull data.

The Keel types sheet shows the drawings you need to answer the question about the single fin keel type.

If you have any queries, please get in touch.

Please DO NOT send a new application for a new boat more than once. If you have corrections to make or additional information to send, please simply send us an E-Mail detailing the specific changes, or use the trial or amendment forms (included in the zip file below, or see links on IRC forms page).
