Poolside 10 – 29/01/04
Happy New Year to you and all, and good wishes for a fun and successful 2004 season!
IRC:
As usual at this time of year, the IRC revalidation forms are falling through the door at a brisk rate, around 500 certificates have already been issued for 2004. If you have not already applied, please get your forms in to us in good time before you race, because we get busier between now and July.
IRC Mainsail upper roach:
We have recently been looking at mainsails with large upper (7/8) widths, please see our website for full details of the measurement information we now require for these sails.
IRM:
From 1st January the IRM Class Association have taken over the administration of the IRM applications and revalidations for GBR boats. However, initial enquiries for new boats can still be directed to us and the IRM Rule and spreadsheet can now be found on our website. The IRM Class Association website is www.irmclass.com
Staffing:
We have now been joined by a new member of staff, Melanie Landamore, a graduate of Newcastle University with a Masters in Marine Technology. Melanies's primary role with the Rating Office will be background research for all the rules that we run, but particularly the new Grand Prix Rule. She will in addition be working on a re-vamp of all our database systems to improve flexibility and efficiency.
