Poolside 9 – 15/10/03

Greetings from cool, bright Lymington.   The open-air swimming pool is now closed, the office window frames are being repainted, it must be autumn!

The Rating Office has had an unbelievably busy year.. the number of rated boats is up again, we've attended regattas and meetings and generally kept ourselves busy serving you, the yachtsman.  You can read more in the rating office report on our website. 

We recently held our annual meeting of the IRC Council, which consists of members around the UK, and representatives from overseas who are able to attend.  You can find the minutes of the meeting on the website now.

Thank you very much to everyone who completed and returned an IRC feedback form to us. We received around 500 and the report on the findings is on our site.

Though here in the northern hemisphere it's Winter Series season, down in Australia, South Africa and SE Asia, it is in the swing of the spring/summer racing, so we're still busy issuing IRC ratings.   In between this, we are working hard on the 2004 yearbook and program.   You can find a precis of the rule changes for 2004 on our website, these are minimal and in practical terms will not be significant for the majority of boats.
