Poolside no.5  09/10/02

Well the nights are drawing in and the local winter series starts this weekend. One can’t help feeling that this is supposed to be the "quieter" time of year in the rating office, but obviously no-one has told you guys, who are still managing to keep us busy!

Last year we rated our highest ever number of boats under IRC, but at the end of September 2002, the number had exceeded the same time last year by around 60 boats, most of this growth is overseas.

The RORC IRC Council held it’s annual meeting at the end of September, you can read the minutes and associated papers including a report on the year, here on our website.

We are pleased to see that after some varying numbers in the last couple of years, the Sports Boat Rule has seen an increase in numbers this year, this rule is now becoming more established as an alternative playground for the light, fast sports boats that are gaining in popularity.

Wishing you all successful autumn/winter (here in the cold) or spring/summer (in southern climes) racing. I hope to be out from behind my desk and on the water for at least some of the winter series!

As always, if have any queries, comments or suggestions, please feel free to e-mail me on jenny@rorcrating.com.
